Miners Water Bottles.
Made from plastic. Size 8″ x 5″ x 3″ inches.
Makers “XPLOS” trade mark.
These bottles were produced with the older black plastic screw tops (as seen in the image) and also the opaque vertically ribbed top. Used through the 1960’s to the 1980’s. They were sold in the colliery canteens without any cord for a hanging loop, you would have to use string or shotfiring wire.
It’s hard to imagine that we only had one of these full of water for 8 hours working underground in humid conditions.
