A Bathgate Miner Helmet.
Black coloured, highly compressed pulp card Helmet. Made by Richard A. Bathgate, London Life Building, Derby Square, Liverpool. Made from compressed card, with a ribbed top and a metal cable clip at the back. The name and Patent is stamped into the rim of the helmet. Size 6. Used throughout the 1950 60s.
The cap-lamp holder is attached to a bracket riveted to the front of the helmet.
