A Bathgate miners helmet, white coloured version.
Made from highly compressed pulp card with a ribbed top, a leather sweatband, cotton webbing and a metal cable clip at the back. Size 6.
Made by Richard A. Bathgate, London Life Building, Derby Square, Liverpool. The manufacturers name and patent is stamped into the rim of the helmet. Used throughout the 1950’s 60’s.
The cap-lamp holder is attached to a bracket riveted to the front of the helmet.
