A Huwood Coal Borer

A Huwood Coal Borer.
This coal borer is a rotary blast borer and was powered by compressed air.
Made by Hugh Wood & Co Ltd, Gateshead-On-Tyne. It bored holes in the coal seam with a 6′ foot long twist boring rod with a tungsten bit attached.

Made from brass and iron. Size 11″ x 7″ x 9″ inches. Weight 15kgs.
