An Arthur Scargill and Margaret Thatcher Candle Holder.
This ceramic candle holder was made by Mr Ned Heywood of Chepstow. It has black and white profile drawings of Arthur Scargill and Margaret Thatcher.
Size 5″ x 5 1/4″ x 2″ inches. The piece is slightly thicker at the base across the width and depth.
Dated 1984.
I was recently informed by Ned Heywood that only 100 of these pieces were made during 1984, they were originally advertised in the “Private Eye” magazine.
Mr Ned Heywood and his assistant Julia Land made all the ceramics for the Wales National Mining Memorial Garden in Senghenydd.
