Awl & Thumb Scraper
This fine flint awl and thumb scraper was found the Sahara Desert.

Made from flint. Size 2″ x 1/4″ – 2″ x 1″ x 1/8″ inches.

Dated to the Middle Palolithic Mousterian period 80,000 – 40,000 BC. 

The small thumb scraper was used to take the flesh off the animal skins and the awl was used to make small holes in the skins to attach cords and ties etc.
