Miners High Visibility Vest and Shorts. A modern set of miners high visibility vest and shorts. Made from lightweight cotton material. Used in the Yorkshire Collieries 2012-2013.

An M.S.A. Remote Sampling Kit & Methanometer. An M.S.A. remote sampling kit, to be used with the methanometer type D6 with an extension rod, adaptor and rubber bulb. Size of rod is 29″ inches closed and 56″ inches fully extended. To be used underground in areas where there are pockets of gas presumed present in places where access is limited.  

An M.S.A. Mining Methanometer. An M.S.A. mining methanometer type D6. Made from plastic. Size 6″ x 2 1/2″ x 2″. Used for checking for methane gas below ground. Used with an extension a telescopic extension probe and rubber bulb, the probe would screw into the top of the detector which is situated under the yellow cap.

N.C.B. Colliery Canteen China Cereal Bowl. Made by Dunn Bennett & Co Ltd, Burslem England. Made from china. Size 9″ x 1 1/2″ inches. These were used in the canteens at the collieries from the late 1940’s. This one is from Wales, it has the N.C.B. logo along with S.W.D. (South Western Division).

UK Coal Mug. A modern issue UK Coal mug produced after 1987. Made from china. Size 4″ x 3″ inches.

Cwmtillery Colliery to Ebbw Vale – Coal Wagon Ticket. This was a type of receipt to prove that the company or colliery had sent the coal and the recipient would know he had received it. They were attached to the coal trucks. Size 4″ x 3″.
