Made by Centurion, Thetford, England.  This modern type of helmet was designed to be up-off the head and didn’t seem to fit right, they looked too big and too high up, as if they would fall off your head.

Miners Clogs

Miners Clogs. A pair of miners clogs.  Made from very thick leather uppers with wooden soles, fitted with tin toe-caps and with iron horse-shoe like protective sole and heel strips. Size 9″ inches high. These high ankle clogs were used from the 1920’s-30’s up until the 1970’s in the northern coalfields. They were also used in other heavy industries.

Rubber N.C.B. Ankle Boots. A pair of N.C.B. rubber ankle boots. Made from rubber with steel toe-cap. These are black rubber with a grey trim and toe-cap.  Size 8″ inches high. This type of boot came with three different coloured trims, grey, red and green. Used throughout the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s.

Wellington Boots. A pair of N.C.B. Dunlop steel toe-cap Wellington boots, shorter type. Used throughout the 1960’s and 1970’s. Made from black rubber. Size 12″ inches high. This certain type of Wellington boot came in two different height sizes, this one 12″ inches high and also a higher 15″ inch variant.
