A Very Early Prick Spur. This early prick-spur is believed to be from the Viking era though may be of Carolingian Empire origin. Made from iron. Size 5″ x 4″ inches. Dated 800 – 900.  This spur still has remnants of both end sections where the leather fixing straps were tied.

Iron Fire Striker & Flint

Iron Fire Striker & Flint. This fire striker would be used by hitting the flint with the striker iron to produce a spark to light fires. Made from iron. Sizes 3″ – 1 1/2″ inches. Date unknown but were used from Roman era to the medieval period.   This striker has the original flint in its intact casing.
