Coal Boring Bit.
Made from iron and tungsten. Size 3″ x 1 3/4″ inches.
This medium common sized bit was inserted into the shaft of a long twist drill rod and used to bore holes in the coal for shotfiring. A bit of wire was inserted through a hole in the end of the rod to hold the bit in place.
