Coal Boring Bit.
Made from iron and tungsten. Size 4″ x 2 1/2″ inches.
This extra large sized bit was inserted into the shaft of a long twist drill rod and used to bore holes in the coal for shotfiring. A bit of wire was inserted through a hole in the end of the rod to hold the bit in place.
