Cwmtillery Colliery Closure Commemorative Medallion.
This Medallion was issued upon the closure of the Cwmtillery Colliery – Abertillery New Mine Cwmtillery Section in 1982. The sinking date is wrong and there is a lot of misconceptions about this however the correct date of sinking is 1842. There was also a commemorative tie issued at the same time. The blue and clear plastic sleeve is the original wallet.

I have seen a few Collieries in South Wales copy the same design on their closure medallions.
