Miners Lock-Out Workmen’s Permit 1921.
This workmen’s work permit was issued to safety workers and men who manned the pumps and safety equipment below ground during the Miners Lock-out of 1921. 

This permit is from Shipley Colliery, Derby, Derbyshire. Issued to Mr P. Robinson to work on the pumps below ground on the 7th of April 1921, in an agreement between workmen and management and coalmasters to ensure the colliery stayed in safe condition during the lock-out. It was signed by Mr G. A. Davidson on behalf of the miners, Mr Geo Wright on behalf of the deputies and Mr C. H. Morse on behalf of the engine and firemen.
