Miners N.C.B. Pay Packet.
Made from a waxed paper material. Size 5″ x 4″ inches.
Used from the early 1970’s to the late 1980’s.
You would have your pay docket on a Thursday, keep the docket but hand the small receipt to the paymaster who, at Rose Heyworth Colliery, would be in the canteen on the Friday, he would then hand you your pay packet. The pay packet was see through so you could check the coinage and count the notes through the cut-away corner (check for any mistakes) without having to open it and compromising the seal.
