Mr Edwin Price was a chemist and wine & spirit merchant and off-licence of 4 Commercial Street, 4 Carmel Street and Somerset Street, Abertillery. Mr Edwin Price was born in 1843 at Coventry, he came to Abertillery in 1889 and opened the town’s first chemist shop.

Mr Price’s sons all followed their father and became chemists, Mr Arthur F. Price became a chemist at Esher, Surrey. Dr Clifford Price was a Medical Superintendent at the Children’s Hospital at Sutton, Surrey. Mr J. Lance Price at Exeter. Mr Edwin Ernest Price was manager at Boots Chemist, Newport and Mr C. E. Price stayed at Abertillery and traded from the Central Drug Stores, Church Street, Abertillery.

Mr Edwin Price passed away on the 3rd June 1915. His obituary stated he was living at Camera House, Somerset Street, Abertillery.
