Paleolithic Spear Point

Paleolithic Spear Points.
These points are well worn and highly polished through time. (close-up of the point showing the wear).

Made from a quartz material. Size averages 3″ x 2″ x 1/2″ – 1 3/4″ x 1″ x 1/4″ inches.

 

Dated to the Middle to the Upper Paleolithic Aterian period 45,000 – 30,000 BC.

These points are often mistaken as arrowheads though these were dated long before arrows and bows were used.
