Pontlottyn Store Hat Brush – Abertillery.
A vintage hat brush from the Morgan & Francis Shop, the Pontlottyn Store at Abertillery. Its curved design was for it to be used by the milliners and hat sales staff for brushing the ladies and gents hats that were sold in the store.
Circa – early 20th century.
Made from two types of wood, a mahogany and maple wood with two coloured bristle hair.
Size 9 1/2″ x 1″ x 1 1/2″ inches.
The Pontlottyn Store building at Abertillery was later taken over by “Kwik Save” and converted into a supermarket, later a cheap shop and was recently taken over by the J. D. Wetherspoon pub chain and converted into pub restaurant called “The Pontlottyn” reverting back to its original name.
