Medieval Horse Shoe. Made from iron. Size 6″ inches Dated 14th – 15th century. This piece has been dipped in an acid bath by the previous owners restorer to remove the rust, something I wouldn’t recommend for the restoration of old objects, it ruins their appearance and patina.

English Mace Head. This hollow ball type of mace head was designed to be wedged onto the end of a shaft of wood. Made from iron. Size 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ inches. Dated 13th – 15th century.   

Medieval Socketed Spear Head. Made from iron. Size 9 1/2″ inches. Dated to the 14th century.      

English Archers Dagger. Made from iron. Size 8″ inches. Dated 12th – 15th century.       

Spindle Whorls. A spindle whorl is a disc shaped object fitted onto a spindle to increase and maintain the speed of the spin during cloth making. Made from lead. Size 1″ inch. Date unknown.

Roman or Medieval Lead Trade Weights. Made from lead. Dates unknown.

Medieval Cup Trade Weights. Made from bronze. Sizes 3/4″ – 1/2″ inches. Dated 14th – 17th century. 

Medieval Thimbles. These thimbles are what’s known as “open top” thimble and a “beehive” thimble. The open top thimble is the oldest design of the two. Made from bronze.  Dated 12th – 15th century.

A Medieval Axe Head. Made from iron. Size 8″ x 2 3/4″ inches. Dated 11th – 15th century. This axe has a makers mark (as seen left).
