Horse Bit. Made from iron. Size 8″ inches. Dated medieval.  This bit has been dipped in an acid bath by the previous owners restorer to remove the rust, something I wouldn’t recommend for the restoration of old objects, it ruins their appearance and patina.

Medieval Money Purse. This medieval leather purse was found in an old cottage in Sussex. Made from leather. Size 5″ x 5″ x 1″ inches. Dated 16th century.   

Medieval Dagger Chapes. These dagger chapes were designed to fit onto the ends of the dagger sheaths to strengthen and reinforce the tips of the sheaths from wear and tear. Made from bronze and metal. Dated 16th century. Size 1 3/4″ inches.

Lead Sack Seals. The middle seal is of Russian origin and features the Russian Imperial Double-Headed Eagle circa 1721-1917. These were to seal the sacks as proof of the vendors goods. Each vendor had their own personal tamper proof seal. Made from lead. Size 3/4″ inches. Dated 18th – 20th century.

Hawking Bell. These bells were tied to the leg of a hawk or other bird of prey while during the sport of hawking. Made from copper alloy. Size 1 1/4″ x 1/2″ inches. Date 16th century?

Pewter Whistle. Made from pewter.  Size 2 1/2″ – 1 3/4″ inches. Dated 19th century.    

Cart Reins Ring and Fixing. Made from bronze. Size 3 1/2″ inches. Dated 19th century.

Horse Whip Riding Crop Handle. Made from copper or bronze? Size 3″ inches. Dated medieval period.
