Small Brass Lamp – Unknown. A small oil lamp with a thick wick and screw top wick protector. Made from thick heavy brass. Size 7″ x 2″ inches. Origin unknown, may not be an industrial lamp? It is stamped with a “Y” on the shoulder.

An Iron Candle “Pot” Holder Spike. Used in mines and levels. Made from iron. Size 4 1/2″ x 1″ inches. The holder would be hammered into a timber on the coal face and a candle placed into it for lighting the work place.  This candle spike was used in the Argoed Farm coal levels Brynithel.

An Iron Candle “Grip” Holder Spike. Used in mines and levels. The holder would be wedged into a crevice firmly gripping the candle between the prongs for lighting the work place. Made from iron. Size 5″ x 2 1/2″ x 1″ inches.   This candle spike was found in an old coal level in Ebbw Vale.

Sprung Wire Miners Candle Holder. A sprung wire miners candle holder, with a hanging hook. It has its original candle. Made from iron and tin plate. Size 7″ x 4″ inches.
